Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced environment. As a CPA, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, maintaining compliance with GAAP and other regulations, and supporting various financial initiatives. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will help drive our organization’s financial integrity and growth.

Duties

Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure data accuracy.
Manage journal entries, accruals, and double-entry bookkeeping processes efficiently using advanced accounting software such as PeopleSoft and QuickBooks.
Oversee financial reporting processes, including financial report writing and interpretation to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements across all financial activities.
Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and budgeting to support organizational financial health.
Mentor junior team members on technical accounting concepts such as GAAP, SEC regulations, and governmental accounting standards.

Skills

Extensive experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, and other financial management tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUP functions, spreadsheet management, data analysis, and financial modeling.
Deep understanding of non-profit accounting practices, corporate finance principles, and regulatory compliance accounting.
Expertise in financial concepts like debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, accrual accounting, and general ledger reconciliation.
Ability to analyze financial data through Excel data analysis techniques for forecasting, budgeting, and financial report interpretation.
Excellent communication skills for financial report writing and presenting complex information clearly.
Demonstrated mentoring ability to guide team members on technical accounting issues including Wills, trusts & estate law when relevant.
