Full Job Description

**This role requires part-time hours during initial 90-day training period, then will transition to a full-time role (40 hours per week)**

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is a licensed pharmacist responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This includes managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with all Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), overseeing inventory control, and maintaining a safe and secure pharmacy environment. The Pharmacy Manager holds overall accountability for the pharmacy operations and employees. The Pharmacy Manager is a key leadership role focused on staff supervision, regulatory compliance, patient care, and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Supervise and oversee all pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists to ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and Company SOPs.

· Enforce and implement all Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across pharmacy operations at all staff levels.

· Make recommendations to Corporate of any suggested workflow or SOP updates, PRIOR to implementing at the store level independently.

· Ensure a collaboratively efficient workflow of the prescription filling process in compliance with company SOPs.

· Manage staff scheduling, including approving time-off requests and ensuring adequate coverage at all times.

· Oversee and supervise pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, returns, and loss prevention.

· Hire, onboard, and train all pharmacy technician staff in accordance with Company policies. New position requisition requests must be approved and posted by the District HR Manager or other corporate level management.

· Document and administer disciplinary action for pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists as necessary, ensuring proper reporting and follow-up, in alignment with Company HR policies and procedures.

· Terminate pharmacy technicians when required, with prior Company approval.

· Monitor and evaluate performance of staff pharmacists, including documenting incidents that may affect employment status.

· Escalate recommendations for staff pharmacist hiring or termination to the supervising District Manager or District HR Manager—Pharmacy Manager is not authorized to make these decisions independently.

· Maintain accurate and organized records of staff performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and training activities.

· Ensure compliance with all required staff training requirements and regular retraining requirements.

· Ensure all pharmacy staff and facility licenses or certificates are not expired and provide prompt resolution of needed renewals. Corporate needs to be notified and involved in facility level renewals.

· Be present at any time a pharmacy board inspection occurs and document any findings or required follow-up actions requested.

· Ensure the safety and security of the pharmacy at all times, including responding to emergencies such as inclement weather, break-ins, or security alerts after business hours.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for pharmacy-related emergencies outside of regular operating hours.

· Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient-centered care.

· Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, as well as company policies.

· Coordinate with corporate teams for audits, compliance reviews, and operational updates.

· Act as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service. Lead by example.

· Complete quarterly compliance checks, identify any misses with integrity, create action plan, and resolve any misses asap.

Skills and Qualifications

· Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.

· Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the practicing state at all times.

· Minimum of 2 years of retail pharmacy experience, including staff supervision.

· Strong leadership and management skills.

· Experience in hiring, training, and evaluating pharmacy technicians.

· Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, insurance billing, and workflow optimization.

· Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and documentation skills.

· Ability to make sound decisions while following Company policies and approval requirements.

· Capable of handling emergency situations calmly and effectively, including after-hours responsibilities.

· Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Office applications.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Commitment to enforcing and following all Company SOPs.
