Job Summary

The IT Solutions Engineer at Veritaz IT Solutions is an integral support system to multiple departments, responsible for identifying and engineering projects, executing profitable projects, and supporting the service department as the SME on key skills. This role ensures that clients’ needs are met with a high level of customer service, technical knowledge, and service delivery. By delivering timely scopes of work and projects, the IT Solutions Engineer aids in strategic technical support while also providing direct collaboration with the entire sales team, aligning field execution with customer expectations and business growth initiatives. This role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and client satisfaction by ensuring service delivery is consistent, well-documented, and timely. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a Tier 3 technical ability to assist with troubleshooting and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the sales team to conduct technical walk-throughs, ensuring accurate discovery and alignment with client needs
Develop comprehensive scopes of work (SOWs) that clearly define deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
Prepare detailed and accurate quotes for proposed solutions, balancing technical feasibility with budget considerations
Engage directly with clients to assess current infrastructure, define long-term IT roadmaps, and establish strategic budgets
Execute advanced technical work at Tier 2 or higher, including complex troubleshooting, system integrations, and infrastructure deployments
Translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions that align with industry best practices and client goals
Serve as a technical advisor during pre-sales and post-sales engagements, bridging the gap between business strategy and IT execution
Document solution designs, implementation plans, and post-deployment support procedures to ensure operational continuity
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to proactively recommend improvements and innovations
Support internal teams with technical guidance, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives
Work interdepartmentally to help technically execute and coordinate multi-phase projects in an efficient and profitable manner
Multitask across systems and applications, analyze and resolve various technical issues, and comfortably navigate an environment of Windows, Mac OSX, Servers, and Mobile Devices
Review tickets prior to closure to confirm completion, clear documentation, proper client communication, and billing-ready details for the finance team
Maintain accurate records in the PSA system, following internal SOPs and documentation standards
Participate in project billing review with management and billing team
Participate in weekend rotation of off-hours coverage time with team members
Ensure a high level of end-user satisfaction through ownership, resolution, and appropriate escalation of issues and projects
Support company and departmental goals set forth by the Manager
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients by managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring that client satisfaction is consistently met by working collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues swiftly

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in an IT Help Desk, Service Desk, or MSP environment.
5+ years of IT experience in a System Engineer role or similar, with the specific goal of completing IT projects.
2+ years of experience writing scopes for IT projects.
Experience working on-site as a leader.
Experience coordinating project work (with vendors, clients, and employees) is a plus.
Familiarity with PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask, Halo PSA).
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Strong technical troubleshooting knowledge (Tier 3).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ Years experience working within an MSP or IT service environment.
Knowledge of ticket lifecycle management and SLA-based service delivery.
Relevant certifications.
