Full Job Description

Main Functions:

The Sales Specialist (SS) provides support for OEM/Emerging Markets, Marlite’s newest and fastest-growing segment. OEM/Emerging Markets include but are not limited to Design/Build Firms, Colleges & Universities, School Districts, Healthcare Systems, Modular Builders, Residential and Multi-family Builders, Governmental Departments and Service Branches, Specification Manufacturers, On-line Retailers, and Property Management Companies. The territory includes the United States and Canada. The SS is responsible for duties in all three phases of the selling process – sales prospecting, sales call supporting, and sales closing, onboarding and tracking.

Specific Responsibilities

Sales prospecting through:
Researching and generating leads from Construction Management Data (CMD) and other sources.
Developing general market awareness and using search engines, artificial intelligence, and trade publications to find new opportunities.
Creating lists for e-mail campaigns and other marketing initiatives.
Making initial contact and follow-up through e-mail and phone.
Setting up appointments.
Vetting prospects and providing details for selling strategies.
Sales call supporting through:
Ensuring presentation samples and other collateral materials are complete and information shared.
Assisting with virtual and/or in-person selling activities.
Evolving into leading virtual and/or in-person selling activities, where appropriate.
Sales closing, on-boarding, and tracking through:
Initiating custom samples and item code requests.
Providing new account information and entering specifications and all data into Salesforce CRM.
Tracking projects and ensuring initial orders are delivered and deadlines are met.
Receiving incoming calls and answering questions from new accounts during the onboarding process.
Assume additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Personal Competency, Skills, Abilities:

Minimum of two years of successful sales experience or commeasurable business experience required.
Willingness to travel with other Marlite personnel initially and independently eventually.
Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance – with high level of integrity, and work ethic.
Solid aptitude in social media, artificial intelligence, and other online platforms.
General knowledge and appreciation of sales principles, methods, practices and techniques, and problem identification and objection resolution skills.
Able to build and maintain working relationships with internal stakeholders, prospects, and customers using exceptional listening, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm, with the ability to work individually, and as part of a team.
Able to manage multiple priorities, be self-motivated and highly organized, able to work independently and adapt to a diverse and demanding environment.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

· Advanced user in Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Job Requirements:

Office environment with appropriate office equipment, electronic systems (hardware & software) to effectively accomplish required work assignments and management of function.
Travel is required (initially 10% - 15%) within North America for face-to-face sales calls and other territory related activities. Travel requirement may grow depending on circumstances and individual and market evolvement.
Sitting, standing, lifting (generally under 20 lbs.), bending in performance of office related duties.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of phones and email for communication is essential.
