Full Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Assistant who has:

· Exceptional customer service skills

· Excellent verbal/written communication skills

· Professionalism

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize

· Ability to pay attention to detail

· Ability to work in a small, team-oriented environment

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

· High school or equivalent (Preferred)

· Family Medical Office Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

· EMR Systems: 1 year (Preferred)

· Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred)

· Experience in referrals and medical records

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

· Obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.) and an accurate list of the patient’s medications as well as other pertinent information needed for the physician to assess the patient while rooming.

· Assist physician with patient exams and procedures.

· Performs phlebotomy and obtains other specimens for testing.

· Administers vaccines as directed by the physician according to policy and procedure.

· Understands the use of an ABN and obtains signature when needed for non-covered services.

· Performs other assigned tasks to promote efficient Practice operation and contribute to the provision of quality patient care.

· Assists with filing, appointment scheduling, check in and check out procedures, answering phones, and communicating with patients

· Assists with tasks preformed by our LPN

· Send refill request for prescriptions to the physician according to policy and protocol.

· Managing the distribution of medical records

· Must be able to obtain prior authorizations for necessary testing and referrals.

· Other duties as required.
