Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal parts using tungsten inert gas welding techniques. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards for producing clean, defect-free welds on materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys.

Your responsibilities will include

Perform TIG welding on a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine requirements.
Set up and operate welding equipment, including selection of correct electrodes, gas mixtures, and filler materials.
Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is operating safely and efficiently.
Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE and proper ventilation practices.
Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production goals.
Perform grinding, cutting, or finishing work as required.
Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or welding certification preferred.
Proven experience as a TIG welder or in a related metal fabrication role.
Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and materials.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Skilled in using hand and power tools related to welding.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Working in a manufacturing or workshop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and fumes.
