Manual Machinist / ProtoTRAK Machinist (Part-Time to Full-Time)

Location: Norton, Ohio
Company: Wagner Machine Inc. — Family-owned since 1957

Wagner Machine Inc. is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. This position has the opportunity to grow from part-time to full-time for the right individual.

We are a busy job shop producing a wide variety of custom-machined components. This role involves operating traditional manual machine tools as well as ProtoTRAK-equipped mills and lathes, giving you the flexibility to machine parts manually or utilize conversational controls when appropriate.

What You'll Do:

Set up and operate manual engine lathes and vertical mills.
Operate ProtoTRAK-equipped mills and lathes using conversational programming and manual controls.
Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
Machine prototype, repair, and short-run production parts.
Select tooling and make machine adjustments as needed.
Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring tools.
Maintain a safe, organized work area.

What We're Looking For:

Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
Experience with ProtoTRAK controls is preferred but not required.
Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently on a variety of jobs.
Job shop experience is preferred.
Reliable, dependable, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
