Full Job Description

Position: 2026-2027 Math Teacher

Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time Math teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes instruction of five sections of Math courses aligned with school standards and taught in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment, actively engaging students in meaningful learning experiences while encouraging a high level of academic achievement. Candidates should be passionate and dedicated to supporting students’ academic, spiritual, and personal growth.

We are a private Catholic high school in the heart of East Akron and rooted in the Holy Cross tradition. Position Responsibilities:

● Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback, resulting in student growth and development.

● Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with students.

● Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled.

● Communicate with parents/guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.

● Incorporate the Holy Cross core values into classroom instruction and daily practices.

● Collaborate with colleagues to refine and align departmental instructional plans that support curriculum goals.

● Utilize a variety of instructional technologies in lesson plans and classroom activities to enrich student learning.

● Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive environment.

● Participate in school-wide events such as open houses, meet the teacher night, and conferences.

● Effective communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

● Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.

Position Qualifications:

● Valid Ohio 7-12 teaching license and successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree.

● Working knowledge of school technology (academic software, Google, etc.).

● Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
