Medical Receptionist – Psychiatric Clinic

Pay: $16.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Openings
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
Work Location: In person

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dependable and professional Medical Receptionist to join our psychiatric clinic. This position is often the first point of contact for our patients, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, organized, professional, and comfortable working in a busy medical office environment.

Previous medical front-office experience and experience working with health insurance are REQUIRED for this position.

Because we work in mental health, professionalism, discretion, compassion, and respect for patient confidentiality are extremely important.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist patients with questions
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
Check patients in and out of the clinic
Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
Obtain and enter insurance information accurately
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Collect copays and patient payments as needed
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Communicate with providers and other clinic staff regarding scheduling and patient needs
Handle sensitive and confidential patient information appropriately
Perform general front-office and administrative duties
Maintain a professional and welcoming front-office environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous medical receptionist, medical front-office, or similar healthcare experience
Experience working with health insurance, including obtaining and verifying patient insurance information
Experience answering and managing phone calls in a professional office environment
Strong computer and data-entry skills
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
Dependable and punctual
Professional demeanor when working with patients, providers, and coworkers
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday
8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
In-person position

COMPENSATION

$16.00 per hour

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
