Full Job Description

Florida Heart Associates is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to join our team. The Director of Clinical Services is a professional Registered Nurse with five or more years of professional nursing experience and a minimum of two years of clinical supervision experience is preferred. The position directs and coordinates the overall strategy and clinical delivery of patient care and related activities of the practice, and oversees the Clinic Manager, Physician, Mid-level and Hospital Schedules, Triage and Coumadin Departments. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for administrative and operational activities as well as the outcomes related to the services performed in these departments. This includes this department’s productivity, quality, staff development, budget, vendor and patient relations and ensuring department meets the requirements of appropriate regulatory bodies. They work closely with medical director(s), FHA’s administrative staff and other members of the medical staff in the performance of these duties.

Located in the attractive Southwest Florida Gulf Coast area, Florida Heart Associates operates a modern medical center dedicated to meeting the cardiac needs of Southwest Florida. We perform diagnostic cardiac testing, in addition to peripheral vascular procedures. We also support an in-house cardiac PET imaging system, stress testing, ECHO, and management of arrhythmia equipment.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program for RN; BSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Five years or more professional nursing including a minimum of two years of clinical supervision experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Active/clear Florida State Nursing License

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Helps to establish/implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for the assigned departments under the direction of Administration and physician partners.
Participates in the development and implementation of long-range plans and budgets.
Able to perform all of the principal duties of the clinic and triage.
Selects, trains/orientates, and supervises department personnel. Accountable for work assignment and daily operations in all areas.
Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Resolves problems and ensures compliance with regulations, standards, codes and core values.
Assists fiscal management and other administrative staff to develop/implement cost effective policies and procedures for all operational areas including bookkeeping, billing, insurance, fee schedules, credit/collections, purchasing, data processing, scheduling and space allocation.
Oversees MIPs/PI quality measures and reporting.
Monitors and controls clinic and triage expenditures within budget.
Overall responsibility for maintaining department productivity within time constraints.
Serve as a respected member of the management team and works closely with all Clinic employees, management and physicians.
Responds to physician and provider inquiries.
Identifies development needs, coaches and mentors staff and Clinic Manager to improve knowledge or skills.
Completes and presents performance evaluation for assigned staff. Provides input for recommendations of merit increases and promotions to CEO.
Complete payroll duties and ensures proper staffing coverage for all departments.
Ensures the effective development and implementation of job description, policies and payroll.
Ensures availability and proper maintenance of emergency equipment.
Ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, HIPAA and other governing agencies.
Maintains employee/company confidentiality.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Maintain departmental policies and procedures for all nursing departments.
Works with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided.
Participates with FHA Board as required.
Assists nursing personnel, as needed, in workload assignments to make the department/practice more efficient.
Reviews and recommends department payroll records. Approves time cards and overtime.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervising manager

Utilizes computer knowledge and skills to enhance job performance.
Works with people in tactful, diplomatic manner. Exercises judgment and discretion when dealing with patients and staff.
Ability to work independently and set priorities under minimal supervision.
Maintain professional licensure and required re-certifications.
