Job Summary

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff and directly assist patients with their daily needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will help foster a positive environment for individuals across various care settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care environments. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting healthcare professionals with tasks such as catheter care, phlebotomy, or medication administration under supervision.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical documentation and records.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery and address individual needs compassionately.
Assist with patient transfers using proper transfer methods and ensure safe manual handling practices during movement or repositioning.
Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean environment in accordance with hospital or long-term care standards.

Experience

Prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic nursing procedures including vital signs monitoring and medication assistance.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral health needs, or those requiring memory care.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) like Epic or Cerner is advantageous.
Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) training are a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; experience with manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts is beneficial.
Strong caregiver communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient service across inpatient and outpatient environments.
