Radiology Business Solutions, a nationally recognized radiology management company, is seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the Radiology Senior Operations Director for a successful Cape Girardeau, Missouri private practice. The selected candidate will lead, work closely with and directly enhance a team of 40 plus physicians, physician extenders and related staff. The Senior Operations Director will collaborate with the firm’s diverse and experienced senior leadership team to ensure success with key areas of the radiology practice including revenue cycle management and reporting, day-to-day operations, accounting and finance, legal and compliance, human resource leadership, adept communications and physician recruiting. The Senior Operations Director will directly integrate with, supervise and be supported by an on-site Practice Administrator and also remotely and by the firm’s executive team and support staff. This group has an active clinical leadership style with opportunities to collaborate with the group’s President and Vice President on all factors related to group management. This is a full-time position, requiring physical presence at the practice, with competitive wages and benefits. This position was made available in the fall 2025, but not filled as the current Senior Operations Director delayed retirement.
Prior Experience:
The RBS Senior Operations Director must be experienced and skilled at leading operations for a large group medical practice, healthcare department with intimate responsibilities for day to day responsibilities, or similar operations. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and skills in physician practice management, financial management, billing and information systems, and human resources. Experience with radiology, imaging, and interventional radiology is preferred.
Job Expectations and Requirements:
- Ability to effectively organize and manage the daily operations of a well-organized physician practice as part of a solid management team.
- Strong background and experience with general accounting, expense monitoring and management, and payroll and general office management to support ongoing operations and communications.

- Complete confidence and ability to effectively work in Microsoft Office products (Work; Excel; PowerPoint, etc.), QuickBooks, and Payroll Software.
- Strong ability to lead and work independently and with adept use of critical thinking skills.
- Experience working with physicians and a up-to-date knowledge of health systems.
- Exceptional communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate with physicians, hospital executive staff and the firm’s executive team.
- Familiarity with Radiology Imaging Services and modalities.
- Demonstrated expertise with billing and collections, revenue cycle management and effective reporting of practice and provider data/analytics.
- Methodical problem-solving style.
- Experience with the development of written meeting agendas and minutes.
- Written report writing skills including experience with summary reporting, mixed use of data and narration and delineation of preferred options when appropriate.
- Understanding of physician credentialing, physician licensure and continuing medical education generally.
- Interest in practice development, expansion of services and marketing.
- Comfort with developing budgets and proformas based on known information and reasonable projections.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting legal documents, contracts, and governance related documentation including bylaws, shareholder agreements and employment agreements.
- Requires meticulous attention to detail and multi-tasking.
- Requires strong customer service skills to interact with patients and vendor relationships by telephone, email and during formal meetings.
- Enjoys oversight of logistics for routine and special occurrences including daily requirements of the practice, periodic executive committee meetings, group meetings and special events.

- Understanding of corporate benefits customary in medical practices including health care insurance, disability insurance, medical malpractice insurance, pension, profit sharing and defined benefit plans and other related benefit options.
- Ability to have human resource oversight and authority over the practice’s technical and support staff in combination with the firm and the practice.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with team members and stakeholders across all areas.
- Maintain confidentiality for patients, the practice and the firm.
Educational and Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or liberal arts. Master’s degree, connected to experience in the field, is a plus
- Preference for 2 years or more of experience with hospital-based and/or outpatient medical practice operations.
- Experience in radiology is a plus.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the conception, planning, and development of strategies and objectives for consideration and adoption by the RBS Leadership Team. Works closely with the physicians, members of the management team, committee chairpersons and other members of the Group in the formulation of specific recommendations.
- Establish a business climate that will ensure success of the organization’s business and is gladly embraced by each member of the organization. This will require honesty, collaboration, and integration of original thoughts and perspectives.
- Directly supervise staff and evaluate their performance. Establishes formal means of accountability from those to whom he/she has assigned duties. Provide appropriate staff support for the development of long- and short-term strategic plans.
- Ensures that all employees are adequately trained for their position, are provided with an opportunity for continuing education, and are instilled with an attitude that promotes cordial relationships with patients, physicians and staff.
- Directs the business and financial affairs of their client groups by employing a system of accountability to ensure responsible fiscal management including accounting, budgeting, internal controls and timely reporting.
- Studies and presents to all members of the practice ways of enhancing operational effectiveness, placing special emphasis on cost containment approaches to the extent possible without jeopardizing important innovation, progress or quality of care.
- Represents the organization in its relationships with community businesses and civic associations, government agencies, and professional organizations.
- Reports regularly to the RBS Partners on the operation of their client group.
- Ensures that all activities of the organization are compliant with all federal and state statutes inclusive of HIPPA compliance and data security. Keeps abreast of pending legislation.
- Partners with Radiologists to maximize resources dedicated to recruitment, staffing and scheduling requirements.
- Able to manage multiple activities simultaneously without missing commitments. Values the importance of planning, follow up, detail and accuracy. Can set agenda, meet timelines and move things forward. Effective decision –making and communication processes. Delegates effectively and clearly and holds team members accountable for assignment results.
- Work with management to obtain & approve all pertinent reports in the monitoring of practice performance, efficiency and profitability.
- Participate in all practice leadership and/or board meetings.
- Evaluate practice productivity and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Responsible for identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities.
- Responsible for negotiating insurance and new business contracts with the support of other subject matter experts.
- Work with management for effective market review of payer arrangements and affiliated contracts.
- P&L development to include revenue growth, cost containment, and analysis of the impact of all operational decisions to profitability.
- Develop and responsible for the financial planning process (budget), and the monthly financials.
- Accountable to revenue cycle productivity metrics.
- Maintaining strong relations with all locations where the group provides services.
- Work effectively with Radiologists in the review of quality initiatives to ensure Quality measures are being met.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the private Practice in relation to established goals.
- Takes ownership of special projects, researches data and follows through with detailed action plans.
- Actively participates in problem identification and resolution and coordinates resolutions between appropriate parties.
- Experience must include successful program planning, implementation, evaluation, and budget preparation, management, and physician relations. Solid financial skills, including ability to lead the budget process and financial planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
