Spa Wellness Specialist
Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves – Glenwood Springs, CO Full-Time | Part-Time | Weekends & Holidays Required
For over 133 years, Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves has offered a one-of-a-kind retreat built around the healing power of natural mineral springs and our legendary underground vapor caves — what we call Big Medicine. We're hiring Spa Wellness Specialists — hands-on wellness providers who deliver body wraps, mineral baths, and body scrubs, lead with heart in every guest interaction, and keep this historic space calm, clean, and welcoming.
No spa experience or license needed — we teach you everything through comprehensive paid training in our signature Yampah treatments. This role is its own craft, built around our vapor caves and mineral springs traditions. (Licensed massage therapists and estheticians: this role likely isn't the best use of your credential — but we'd love to hear from you when we post our licensed provider openings.)
Read This Before Applying
We'd rather be honest now than surprise you in week two. This role is a great fit for some people and a bad fit for others. Here's the real deal:
- This is hands-on, guest-facing work. You'll deliver body treatments and mineral baths — and spend most of your day face-to-face with guests. At its core, this is a customer service role: working closely with people, reading what they need, and making them feel cared for is a must.
- A meaningful part of every shift is cleaning. Locker rooms, treatment areas, laundry, resetting spaces. We treat this work as part of the guest experience, not beneath it. If it feels beneath you, this isn't your role.
- The environment is warm and humid, and you'll be on your feet most of the day.
- Weekends and holidays are required, not negotiable. They're our busiest days — it's when the team needs each other most.
- Training pays Colorado minimum wage until you're certified in our treatments, typically 2–4 weeks. After that, you move to full pay.
If you read all that and thought "that sounds like my kind of work" — we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Deliver our signature treatments: body wraps, mineral baths, and body scrubs, with care, presence, and confidence (full paid training provided)
- Own the guest experience: from arrival through treatment and beyond, every guest should feel seen, supported, and cared for
- Keep the spa pristine: locker rooms, treatment areas, and common spaces clean, stocked, and reset — plus laundry handled with care and efficiency
- Keep things flowing: anticipate needs before they're spoken, communicate with the team, and step in wherever help is needed — before you're asked
Our Values Are the Job
Anyone can say they're "hardworking and caring." At Yampah, our values aren't wall art — they're the hiring bar. Here's what each one looks like in this role:
- Lead with Heart — From our guests to your teammates, you show up with empathy, kindness, and pride in every detail
- Guest Experience is Everything — You elevate even the smallest moments: a warm towel, a remembered name, a returning guest's favorite wrap
- Wellness is Our Craft, Stewardship is Our Duty — You treat resetting a locker room with the same pride as delivering a treatment. This place has been healing people for 133 years, and you're one of its keepers
- Be Proactive. Own It. Elevate It. — You refill the water station before a guest notices it's low. You pick up the towel nobody asked you to
- Bring the Energy — You bring steady, warm positivity on a packed Saturday, not just a quiet Tuesday. Your energy shapes the atmosphere
- Better Together — You tell a teammate the truth kindly, ask for help without hesitation, and know we rise as one
Every member of our team commits to upholding these values — it's part of joining Yampah. If reading them felt like recognition rather than a checklist, you're probably our kind of person.
