Note: Applicants should have 2+ years of tax law experience. California Bar admission is preferred, but attorneys licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction who are eligible for reciprocity will also be considered.

Job Description
- Represent clients before the IRS and California taxing authorities.
- Handle federal and state tax audits, examinations, appeals, and administrative proceedings.
- Assist with tax controversy matters including collections, Offers in Compromise, installment agreements, and Collection Due Process hearings.
- Support tax litigation matters, including U.S. Tax Court proceedings.
- Advise clients on tax planning, business structuring, entity formation, and transactional matters.
- Research complex federal and state tax issues and prepare legal memoranda.
- Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, settlement proposals, and client communications.
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys while gradually managing your own matters.
- Develop trusted relationships with sophisticated business and individual clients.
- Participate in continuing legal education and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 2+ years of tax law experience in a law firm or similar legal environment.
- Experience handling federal and/or state tax controversy matters.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience representing clients before the IRS or state taxing authorities is preferred.
- California Bar admission is preferred but not required.
