Position Summary

The Research Associate / Associate Scientist will support the isolation, processing, characterization, and cryopreservation of human and animal primary cells. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience isolating PBMCs and immune cell populations from blood samples and will play a key role in supporting the company’s U.S. cell production and research activities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform PBMC isolation from whole blood using density gradient centrifugation and related methods.
Isolate, culture, characterize, and cryopreserve immune cells and other primary cell types.
Support processing of human and animal tissues for primary cell isolation.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and SOP documentation.
Perform cell counting, viability assessment, flow cytometry sample preparation, and quality control testing.
Support inventory management, reagent preparation, and laboratory organization.
Collaborate with internal scientific and operational teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
Assist in technology transfer, process optimization, and scale-up activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
At least 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in cell biology, immunology, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated practical experience isolating PBMCs and immune cells from human blood samples.
Experience with aseptic cell culture techniques and handling of primary cells.
Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow SOPs.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience isolating additional human primary cells such as hepatocytes, fibroblasts, stem cells, or other immune cell subsets.
Experience isolating animal primary cells and processing animal tissues.
Experience with flow cytometry, cell sorting, or immune cell functional assays.
Experience working in ISO-certified, GMP, GLP, or other regulated laboratory environments with strong understanding of quality systems, documentation practices, and SOP compliance.
