Hourly Pay Range and Other Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $38.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Employment Type: Contract
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours. Candidates must be available to work onsite during the BambooHR implementation and October 1st payroll go-live.
Job Summary
Eastridge Workforce Solutions is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist for a contract opportunity with an innovative clean energy company in San Diego. This position requires recent, hands-on experience implementing and processing payroll in BambooHR. Candidates without direct BambooHR payroll experience will not be considered.
In this highly visible role, you will lead Tempo's transition from Justworks PEO to BambooHR Payroll, overseeing system configuration, payroll setup, data migration, testing, and payroll validation through go-live. You'll partner closely with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure a seamless implementation while serving as the organization's BambooHR payroll subject matter expert.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and configuration of BambooHR Payroll, including pay schedules, earnings and deductions, tax setup, approval workflows, and payroll policies.
- Own payroll data migration from Justworks into BambooHR, validating employee records, compensation data, historical payroll information, and tax settings.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot BambooHR payroll functionality and system integrations.
- Execute parallel payroll testing and support multiple payroll cycles following implementation to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to optimize payroll workflows and improve payroll processes within BambooHR.
- Develop documentation and train internal users on BambooHR payroll administration and ongoing system maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California payroll laws throughout implementation and ongoing payroll processing.
Requirements
- 7+ years of payroll experience.
- REQUIRED: Demonstrated hands-on experience processing payroll in BambooHR.
- Strong knowledge of California payroll, multi-state payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance.
- Experience migrating payroll data between HRIS/payroll systems, including reconciliation and auditing large datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with minimal ramp-up time.
