Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This vital role involves managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintaining precise financial data, and supporting our accounting functions. This position will work with our outside accountants to maintain the books, and with our administrative assistant to oversee AR/AP. We are a small family manufacturing company with around 85 employee in the central Indiana area.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records
Prepare journal entries, ledger postings, and account analyses in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Reconcile balance sheets through detailed account analysis and ensure all debits & credits are correctly recorded
Utilize accounting software JobBoss (similar to Quickbooks for Manufacturing), as well as Quickbooks Payroll.
Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting in financial report writing
Conduct payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations and governmental accounting standards

Qualifications

Proven experience with corporate bookkeeping tasks.
Strong proficiency in accounting software Quickbooks or similar software.
Knowledge of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation procedures
Familiarity with general Tax Accounting.
Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and journal entries accurately
Excellent understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently
3-5 years experience with Bookkeeping
