Overview

Join our vibrant early childhood education community as an Assistant Childcare Director, where your leadership will inspire growth, foster a nurturing environment, and ensure excellence in every aspect of our program. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated educators, manage operational responsibilities, and contribute to the development of young minds. As a key member of our leadership team, you will help shape a positive, compliant, and innovative learning space that supports children’s development from infancy through early childhood stages. Your passion for education and management expertise will drive our mission to provide exceptional care and education for every child.

Duties

Assist the Childcare Director in overseeing daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
Support curriculum development initiatives that promote age-appropriate learning, childhood development best practices, and inclusive educational strategies.
Supervise and evaluate teaching staff, providing mentorship and facilitating professional development opportunities aligned with educational standards.
Manage personnel responsibilities including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and school policies.
Oversee budgeting processes related to program resources, supplies, and staff scheduling to maintain financial health and operational efficiency.
Ensure adherence to all licensing regulations, safety protocols, and legal requirements related to early childhood education and school administration.
Lead strategic planning efforts to enhance program quality, expand fundraising initiatives, and foster community engagement through outreach activities.
Facilitate school staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops to promote instructional leadership and continuous improvement in classroom practices.
Collaborate with families to support children’s individual needs while maintaining open communication channels about progress and concerns.
Maintain detailed records on student progress, staff performance, compliance documentation, and program evaluations.

Assistant Director Qualifications:

1. The assistant director should be a minimum of 21 years.

2. The assistant director shall have a minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a large childcare center environment.

3. The assistant director shall have a minimum of one (1) of the following education and experience qualifications:

a. An associates degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or elementary education with a kindergarten endorsement and grades of C or better.

b. Any Associates degree from an accredited college or university must include one (1) of the following:

1. Fifteen (15) credit hours in college level courses with documented content relating to the skills, needs, development, or teaching methods of children six (6) years of age or younger and grades of C or better.

2. A CDA

Director Responsibilities:

1. Staffing- Managing/creating a quality team

2. Manage Social Media, Webpage, Marketing Promotions

3. Curriculum Development, Lesson Plan review

4. Enrollment maximization

5. Appearance of the Center, Cleanliness

6. Develop relationships with parents

Successful candidates should also have the following:

1. Ability to Market -* Sales background a plus. Ability to implement various marketing initiatives designed to grow enrollment and enhance visibility in the community.

2. Problem solving and process development expertise. progressively increasing experience in general business, issue identification, problem solving and development.

3. Customer Focus and Business Knowledge - *Including strategic thinking and acting, accountability for results, business and customer orientation.

4. Commitment to People - *Including balancing self-awareness and self-confidence, leading by example, transparency, developing people, desire to lead, empathy, respect and trust.

5. Enable Change -*Including thinking and acting across borders, actively driving solutions, leveraging knowledge, creativity and innovation.

6. Effective Communication Skills – Ability to communicate with internal and external clients

7. Computer and Information analysis skills

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
