Full Job Description

Ojai Rôtie is seeking an experienced catering chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a kitchen team in preparing and executing both onsite and offsite events. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, highly organized, and passionate about creating memorable food experiences that embody Ojai Rôtie.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for events specific to our menu, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts
Collaborate with Catering Director and clients to design menus that meet their needs and preferences
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards while embodying the Ojai Rôtie energy and aesthetic
Coordinate on event logistics with the Catering Director and event team, ensuring smooth timing and execution
Manage catering inventory, including ordering and organizing supplies
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations
Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed

We are looking for folks with:

Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a catering or event setting
Strong culinary skills with a keen eye for presentation and highly developed palate
Ability to think outside the box
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Staff leadership and event logistics coordination
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Strong communication skills with a friendly, positive, customer-focused attitude and strong ability to work as a part of a team
Professional demeanor and appearance
An appreciation for delicious food and beverages
Must be reliable and punctual
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
Must be able to stand, walk, and carry for extended periods
Able to handle heavy lifting
Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Spanish speaking bilingual a plus
Familiar with Ventura County and Santa Barbara County
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support catering operations and special events
