The Production Planner plans and executes facility schedules and forecasts upcoming volume, working closely with the leadership team and coordinating with customers to manage the utilization of resources and build efficient production schedules. This is a dayshift position responsible for maintaining the workflow of a facility that runs 24/7. The role supports weekly and monthly revenue validation to help ensure orders are closed and processed in a timely manner. Universal Pure uses NetSuite as its ERP, including its built-in WMS functions, and is implementing a new warehouse management system in the coming months; this position will help support the transition from NetSuite to the new WMS locally.
Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities:
Scheduling and Logistics
- Forecast upcoming schedules, confirming arrival dates and volumes
- Build efficient production schedules based on process flow to minimize CIPs and maximize efficiency
- Communicate with customers to provide advance notification of deviations to the planned schedule
- Confirm inbound and outbound dock dashboards are maintained and properly completed
- Work closely with the Department Managers/Supervisors to ensure successful processing and continued product flow
- Serve as liaison between Production, QA, and Customer Service
- Maintain continuous communication with Production on schedule changes and the labor requirements necessary to satisfy the schedule
Data Management
- Ensure that the daily production dashboard is maintained and performance goals and actuals are accurate. This includes resources, goals, run rates, and accurate reporting of timed events.
- Support weekly and monthly revenue validation to help ensure orders are closed and processed in a timely manner, working with the Production, Quality, and IT teams
- Maintain performance metrics for the plant and provide analysis of performance to goal
- Support the overall inventory management process via the WMS, including new account setup and existing account changes/additions for scheduling purposes
- Support the transition from NetSuite’s built-in WMS functions to the new warehouse management system
Customer Service and Continuous Improvement
- Resolve escalated issues and complaints from customers as well as manage their expectations and needs
- Identify areas of improvement and propose/implement solutions
- Research errors to identify root causes and implement short-term and long-term solutions
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and with documenting production processes
- Learn and conduct audits of production processes to ensure compliance
Team and General
- Follow GMP, health, safety, and cleanliness standards
- Handle other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent 2 – 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution industries
- Experience using NetSuite is highly preferred
- Experience and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
- Continuous improvement mindset preferred
- Strong Excel skills and analytical aptitude preferred
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience and understanding of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required (pivot table experience required)
- Management skills, including the ability to identify performance gaps, determine root causes, and implement solutions
- Ability and initiative to implement process improvements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Analytical skills; ability to perform manufacturing mathematical calculations (run rates, volume consumption, etc.)
- Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions
This is largely a static role in an office setting. The ability to perform repetitive bending and walking is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. occasionally.
This role is office-based and occasionally operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (usually 38°) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production-type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for the duration of the shift when necessary.
