Reports to: Director of Health Services

Location: New Castle, KY

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

We are the largest private provider of residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the state of Kentucky. What you'll do:

To provide our individuals with continuous, professional healthcare services by administering treatments, medication, etc., as prescribed by the physician. To document doctor’s orders, treatments and care given in an organized, systematical manner. Initiate and follow preventative measurements to protect residents from undue injury, illness or trauma with the goal of developing, maintaining, and improving the residents’ physical well-being which will enable them to reach the highest possible degree of wellness. To be a member of the team of the nursing staff/therapists and all CLL staff by effectively communicating verbally and in writing. To knowledgeable of and apply current state and federal rules and regulations.

Participate in the resident's individual program plan and ensure the health services aspects of that plan.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the resident's treatment plan.
Observe, record, and report findings to the appropriate person, and to perform routine nursing duties including but not limited to giving medications and treatments, taking vital signs, monitoring blood sugars, and urine testing.
Assist with all aspect for resident's care, and training.
Assists accompany residents to the doctor or hospital, as needed.
Active communicating member of the Park Place & Sycamore Run team.
Administer basic first aid and/or CPR in an emergency situation.
Write monthly nursing summary and assessment in the resident's care plan.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What sets you apart:

Must be a graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
Must have a current Kentucky license to practice nursing.
Current CPR and first aid training certification.
One year in the field of developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities preferred.
Two years nursing experience in a long-term facility preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license with a record acceptable to Cedar Lake Lodge's insurance carrier.

What your typical schedule looks like:

3-12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week 7pm-7am.

All employees in this job classification are reasonably anticipated to have routine occupational exposure to potentially hazardous bloodborne pathogens.
