Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our machine tool sales team. This role combines engineering expertise with customer engagement to identify manufacturing solutions, recommend machine tools, and support customers throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate will understand machining processes, CNC equipment, and manufacturing operations while building strong relationships with clients in industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Promote and sell CNC machine tools, automation systems, and manufacturing solutions to new and existing customers.
Analyze customer manufacturing requirements and recommend appropriate machining solutions.
Conduct technical presentations, machine demonstrations, and customer consultations.
Prepare quotations, technical proposals, and cost justifications.
Collaborate with applications engineers and service teams to ensure successful project implementation.
Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing engineers, plant managers, and purchasing teams.
Support machine installations, training, and post-sale customer service.
Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging manufacturing technologies.
Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
Meet or exceed sales targets and business development goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of CNC machining, metal cutting, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to understand technical drawings, GD&T, and machining applications.
Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory.
Prior experience in machine tools, manufacturing, or technical sales is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills

Experience with CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis machining centers, or automation systems.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing workflows.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and production optimization.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Pay: $62,475.77 - $75,239.64 per year
