Accountant

Location: Joplin, MO
Type: Full Time

We operate multiple growing businesses in different industries. We move fast, expect accuracy, and care deeply about clean books, real reporting, and accountability. This role is mission-critical if numbers stress you out, this is not the job. If clean financials make you weirdly happy, welcome home.

What You’ll Do

Maintain accurate, up-to-date books across multiple entities
Handle AP/AR, reconciliations, and journal entries
Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and trust accounts
Track income, expenses, and intercompany transactions
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
Work closely with leadership to explain the story behind the numbers
Support CPA/tax prep with clean, organized records
Catch issues early and speak up (silence is expensive)

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong knowledge of technology
Experience with multi-entity businesses strongly preferred
Extremely detail-oriented (you notice when numbers don’t make sense)
Organized, proactive, and reliable
Comfortable handling confidential financial information
Able to meet deadlines without being babysat

Bonus Points If You

Have worked with trust accounting
Understand accrual vs. cash accounting (and why it matters)
Can explain financials to non-accountants without making them cry
Actually enjoy reconciliations (we see you)
