Full Job Description

Division Finance Manager

Salary Range: $110,000–$128,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location: Hybrid in Raleigh, NC area

About the Role

A growing environmental services company is seeking a Division Finance Manager to support a group of operating branches. This newly created position will serve as a key financial partner to division and branch leadership, with responsibility for financial reporting, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate is a strong accountant who understands project-based businesses and is ready to take ownership of financial performance at the division level.

Key Responsibilities

Own financial reporting and accounting for assigned branches and the division.
Prepare revenue recognition, job costing, accruals, and percentage-of-completion calculations.
Analyze job profitability, cost-to-complete, margins, and variances.
Partner with operations and branch leaders on job performance, change orders, pricing, and financial decisions.
Lead the division's annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and explain key variances and business drivers.
Identify opportunities to improve margins, profitability, and operational performance.
Support the financial integration of newly acquired branches.
Coordinate with centralized Billing and Finance teams to resolve accounting and billing questions.
Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with company standards.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with job cost accounting in a project-based, construction, or service business.
Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, accruals, and cost-to-complete analysis.
Experience preparing budgets and forecasts for a branch, region, division, or business unit.
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite preferred.
Strong communication and business-partnering skills.
Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial leaders.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and sense of ownership.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Preferred:

Construction or project-based accounting or audit experience.
Experience with estimates-to-complete and over/under billing.
Experience in a private equity-backed or acquisition-driven organization.
Experience integrating acquired businesses.
Experience with job pricing or contract price escalation analysis.
Power BI or other financial reporting/dashboard experience.
CCIFP certification or CFMA membership.
Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency, analysis, or reporting.
