POSITION: Interventionist
LOCATION: Site Designated – As Assigned
REPORTS TO: Site Principal or Designee
JOB GOAL:
To assist the Principal in reducing the dropout rate of students through the use of intervention strategies as identified by the Principal.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.

Experience in working with high school students.

Experience working with community programs.

Experience in youth prevention and intervention.

Highly organized with good systems for record keeping ands record retrieval.

Bi-lingual PREFERRED

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Work with individual students that have been identified as falling behind in grades and attendance.

Meet with identified students on a regular and consistent basis to monitor progress in the classroom and identify needs of the student.

Responsible for communicating with parents/guardians through attendance letters and progress reports.
-
Monitor student behavior and work on changing behavior in a positive manner.
-
Assist teachers with tutoring opportunities for students in the program.
-
Assist staff with district testing Assists with Leadership Team.
-
Interacts and communicates with school personnel, parents and the community to support student achievement and program success.
-
Coordinates, conducts or participates in other activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school and district.

Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify students in need of intervention
-
Maintain documentation of student progress collaboratively with classroom teacher
-
Work directly with students at-risk and their parents to modify behaviors to reach successful outcomes
-
Build effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication and available to students and parents for education-related purposes, e.g., open house, conferences, extra-curricular activities.

Work flexible schedule for before or afterschool supports as needed
-
Coordinates and attends all necessary meetings.
-
Perform other tasks, duties, or services consistent with this position as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Related Services/Interventionist Calendar.

Placement on Exempt-Related Services salary schedule dependent on education and experience.
-
This is a contracted position paid by grant funding for one year.
-
Must pass Department of Public Safety Fingerprint clearance check.
-
Must be United States citizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa, (if necessary).

IVP Fingerprint Clearance card, is required
EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

Proof of Mumps, Measles and Rubella, (MMR) vaccination.

Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.

Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications, official transcripts will be due upon job offer*
Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation, (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, (NACES).
