The Talent Acquisition & HR Coordinator plays a key role in attracting top talent and creating an exceptional new hire experience. This position manages the full recruitment lifecycle, partners with hiring managers across the organization, and coordinates onboarding activities that help new employees feel welcomed, prepared, and engaged from day one. The role also provides cross-functional support by serving as a trained backup for payroll and benefits administration, and offers the opportunity to build expertise across talent acquisition and human resources while contributing to the continued growth of the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Recruitment (estimated 70-80%)

Serve as a positive ambassador for Maine Oxy by delivering a welcoming, professional, and engaging experience for candidates and new employees
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, and pre-employment activities

Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop recruiting strategies, and provide regular updates throughout the hiring process

Proactively source candidates through job boards, networking, referrals, and community partnerships

Create and maintain job postings across multiple recruiting platforms
- Screen applicants, conduct initial phone interviews, and coordinate interviews
- Schedule and track background checks, drug screens, and other pre-employment requirements
- Maintain candidate communications throughout the hiring process
Onboarding (estimated 15-20%)

Coordinate onboarding activities, first-day logistics, and training schedules to ensure a seamless transition into employment
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure employees are prepared with the tools, resources, and information needed for a successful start

Partner with hiring managers to monitor new hire progress during the onboarding period and address any early concerns

Ensure all employment documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Support early employee engagement initiatives to improve retention
HR Operations (estimated 10-15%)
- Recommend improvements to recruiting, onboarding, and hiring processes to improve efficiency and candidate experience
- Maintain applicant and employee information within the HRIS
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics and hiring activity to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

Administer the employee uniform program
- Develop and maintain relationships with workforce development organizations, schools, community partners, career fairs, and recruiting sources to strengthen candidate pipelines
- Cross-train to provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- One (1) to three (3) years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources experience preferred

Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) preferred
