Quality Engineer / QMS Coordinator

Dynasty Fab LLC

Position SummaryDynasty Fab LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / QMS Coordinator to maintain and continually improve our Quality Management System while performing hands-on inspection of fabricated, welded, and machined components.This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for coordinating all internal, customer, supplier, and third-party inspection requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing quality documentation and working directly on the shop floor using precision measuring equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain and continually improve Dynasty Fab’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
Maintain procedures, work instructions, forms, inspection records, and other controlled documents.
Coordinate all incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements.
Perform dimensional and visual inspections of fabricated, welded, and machined components.
Use inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, weld symbols, and GD&T requirements.
Prepare inspection reports, First Article Inspection Reports, Certificates of Conformance, and other customer-required documentation.
Review purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify quality and inspection requirements.
Coordinate outside inspection, testing, calibration, and nondestructive testing services when required.
Manage nonconforming material reports, corrective actions, root-cause investigations, and verification of corrective-action effectiveness.
Support internal, customer, supplier, and registrar audits.
Maintain the calibration system and ensure inspection equipment remains properly calibrated and controlled.
Verify material certifications, traceability records, weld documentation, NDT reports, and special-process documentation.
Work with project management, production, machining, welding, purchasing, and shipping to ensure all quality requirements are completed.
Develop inspection plans, control plans, checklists, and quality procedures.
Communicate quality concerns directly to the Vice President of Operations and affected departments.
Help promote a company-wide culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
Previous quality assurance, quality engineering, or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, tolerances, and GD&T.
Proficiency with common precision measuring and inspection equipment.
Experience with document control, nonconformance reporting, corrective actions, and audit preparation.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently coordinate multiple inspection priorities.
Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, project managers, customers, suppliers, and outside inspection providers.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality-record systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in aerospace, defense, fabrication, welding, or precision machining.
Experience supporting AS9100 certification or surveillance audits.
Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
Knowledge of welding inspection, NDT documentation, material traceability, and special-process controls.
ISO 9001 or AS9100 internal-auditor training.
CMM or advanced inspection-equipment experience.
AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification or relevant quality certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in both an office and active manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform inspections throughout the facility.
Ability to safely handle inspection equipment and manufactured components.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when necessary.

Reporting Structure

The Quality Engineer / QMS Coordinator reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and will coordinate quality-system activities and inspection requirements throughout Dynasty Fab.

Compensation: $80,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements with the ability to pass a certification audit.
