Part-Time Bookkeeper

McGinley Companies
Position Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Approximately 15–25 hours per week, with flexibility based on workload and accounting cycles.

Position Summary

McGinley Companies is seeking an experienced, highly organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of multiple affiliated companies. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring financial documentation is complete and properly maintained.

The ideal candidate is trustworthy, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to manage financial information across multiple business entities while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple McGinley Companies entities.
Enter and categorize financial transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
Manage accounts payable, including entering bills, tracking due dates, and preparing payments for approval.
Monitor accounts receivable and create invoices and payment tracking.
Record deposits and ensure payments are properly applied.
Maintain organized electronic financial records, receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation.
Review transactions for proper company, account, and expense classification.
Make intercompany transactions and ensure expenses are recorded to the appropriate entity.
Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping and reconciliation as needed.
Track recurring expenses, subscriptions, vendor payments, and automatic withdrawals.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial preparation.
Prepare basic financial reports for management.
Work with company leadership, CPA, payroll provider, and other financial professionals as needed.
Assist in gathering documentation for tax preparation, audits, insurance renewals, financing, and other financial reporting requirements.
Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions and promptly bring them to management's attention.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company, employee, banking, and financial information.
Perform additional bookkeeping and administrative financial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
Experience with QuickBooks Online required.
Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping practices.
Experience working with multiple companies or business entities preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and electronic document management.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.

Preferred Experience

3+ years of bookkeeping experience.
Experience supporting multiple related business entities.
Familiarity with healthcare, medical practices, medical devices, real estate, or other multi-entity organizations is a plus.

Compensation

Recommended Range: $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
