About La Cocina

For nearly 30 years, La Cocina has been serving Casper with fresh Mexican food and genuine hospitality. We're a family-owned restaurant built on consistency, teamwork, and creating a place where people love to gather.

We're looking for a Kitchen Operations Manager to help lead the next chapter of our business.

This isn't just about running a kitchen. We're looking for someone who takes pride in developing people, creating efficient systems, maintaining high food standards, and helping a family-owned restaurant continue to grow.

What You'll Do

As our Kitchen Operations Manager, you'll own the day-to-day kitchen operation while working closely with the owner to ensure every guest receives the quality and consistency La Cocina has been known for for nearly three decades.

This is a working leadership role—you'll spend time on the line, at expo, coaching the team, and keeping the kitchen running efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

Lead all kitchen operations during assigned shifts.
Serve as Expo during lunch and dinner service by coordinating ticket flow, timing, communication, and quality control.
Ensure every dish meets La Cocina's standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and portion size.
Train, coach, and hold kitchen team members accountable.
Create daily prep lists and ensure every station is service-ready.
Manage inventory, ordering, product rotation (FIFO), and minimize food waste.
Monitor labor, staffing, and kitchen efficiency alongside ownership.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
Resolve kitchen challenges calmly and professionally.
Step into any station as needed while maintaining oversight of the entire kitchen.
Communicate daily with ownership regarding staffing, inventory, equipment, and operational needs.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

Has at least 2 years of restaurant kitchen leadership experience.
Leads by example and enjoys coaching others.
Stays organized and calm under pressure.
Communicates well with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Takes pride in high food standards and consistency.
Is dependable, accountable, and committed to building a positive team culture.

Compensation & Perks

Starting salary of $51,000 per year, based on experience.
Performance bonus opportunities based on milestones and business goals.
Full-time position.
Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
Sundays and Mondays off.
Three paid sick/personal days after 90 days.
One week of paid vacation after one year.
One complimentary shift meal each workday.
50% employee discount on additional meals.
