Full Job Description

Division: Administration

Reports to: Child Welfare Department Manager

Worksite: Child Welfare Department

LLBO Status: Exempt

Safety Sensitive: Yes

License/Certification Requirements: Valid MN Driver's License, current insurance or be insurable is preferred.

Summary: Responsible for enhancing the quality of care that is provided to the program's constituents through implementation and administration of compliance measures. Also responsible for facilitating staff and program improvement through the development, application, and monitoring of; individual and agency training plan(s), file/case integrity inspections, and systems operational management.

Education Requirements and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood, Business Management or related field is required.

Two years of experience in administration and/or program development is preferred.

Experience in planning service delivery activities for Native American children and families if preferred.

Experience working in the Human Services or Early Childhood field and within the community is required.

Experience in public relations and public speaking is preferred.

Experience in child protection case management is preferred.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication is required.

Ability to relate to people from many backgrounds is required.

Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload is required.

Ability to deal with conflicting situations in a patient and sensitive manner is required.

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision is required.

Knowledgeable of the current policy and procedures for all individual programs under Child Welfare, including;

Child Protection, Foster Care, Family Preservation, Truancy, and Intake/Assessment.

Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture, lifestyles, and values.

Native American preference.

Pass a criminal and social services background check.

Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe positions.

Supervisory Duties:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Participate in planning, problem solving, and implementation of program services, working closely with management to ensure effective delivery of services.

Prepare reports on program activities and share with program staff and management as required and requested.

Review budget forecasts and be familiar with financial needs regarding training and technology.

Work cooperatively as a member of a team and promote teamwork with co-workers.

Develop linkages with community agencies regarding training needs, resources available, and culturally responsive curriculum being utilized.

Schedule, monitor, facilitate, and observe training as needed.

Work with LLBO programs to create and implement a training plan that will encompass program needs, utilizing resources to provide effective, efficient, non-duplicating services.

Coordinate with local agencies to access trainers and advertise training resources according to area of expertise.

Develop training sessions, arrange for location and advertise training events to all necessary contacts.

Identify trainers and process professional service contracts in a timely manner for trainer payments.

Disseminate training information to LLCW staff.

Keep records of all training events, registrations cost, and attendance.

Compile and record training needs of Child Welfare Program staff.

Revise and implement LLCW foundations training modules.

Provide new staff orientation for all program staff.

Assist in developing a career development and cultural training plan for Child Welfare staff.

Monitor status of individual staff career development plans and training achievements as well as continued trainings needs.

Serve as SSIS Worker Mentor and attend Worker Mentor training meetings when they are offered in order to share new SSIS information with appropriate staff.

Assist staff in correcting SSIS data errors in preparations for uploading the monthly repository data to the state.

Clear clients SWNDX on a regular basis.

Coordinate and provide in house training on SSIS to new staff and as a refresher when needed.

Perform SSIS server maintenance and troubleshoot technology issues with workstations.

Add new users to SSIS system and act as Security Administrator by assigning roles and security rights.

Inventory and maintain all program computer equipment, update equipment as needed.

Continually seek on-going career development and periodically make presentations as required and requested.

Complete routine fil/case integrity inspections for each CW program and provide feedback to staff on compliance improvement recommendations.

Assist CW Department Manager with monitoring grant compliance for all training and technology deliverables.

Assist CW Department Manager with monitoring grant compliance by providing reports from SSIS.

Attend program activities outside normal working hours.

Participate in various committees, boards, or community groups as appropriate.

Attend other meetings, workshops, and conferences to improve job performance.

Engage in on-going assessments to ensure quality of services is being provided.

Attend and or conduct all mandatory meetings and trainings as required.

Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.

Travel in and out of the state as needed.

Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture.

Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.

All other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 30 pounds or more and use proper body mechanics.

Be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to work within an internal, non-smoking environment.
