Field Manager – Senior Carpentry Experience
Colorado Decks Plus
Denver Metro Area
Full-Time | W-2 Employee
Base Salary: $55,000–$72,000
Expected Total Compensation: $105,000–$130,000+
(After approximately six months of training, you'll become eligible for a performance-based bonus program based on project quality, customer satisfaction, and completed projects.)
Ready for the Next Chapter of Your Career?
Have you spent the last 15–30 years building decks, framing homes, remodeling houses, or leading a crew?
Do you still enjoy construction, but you're ready to spend more time leading projects, mentoring crews, solving problems, and ensuring quality—and a little less time carrying lumber and swinging a hammer all day?
If so, this may be exactly what you're looking for.
This position is ideal for an experienced carpenter, foreman, or superintendent who's ready to transition into a leadership role that's less physically demanding while staying connected to the field.
Unlike many construction management jobs, you won't be managing dozens of subcontractors, sitting through endless meetings, or buried in paperwork. You'll oversee a small number of residential projects, work with the same trusted crews each week, build relationships with homeowners, and have the autonomy to make decisions without layers of corporate bureaucracy.
We're looking for someone whose experience in the field has earned them the respect of others—someone who can spot problems before they happen, coach crews, maintain exceptional quality, and help us continue building one of the best outdoor living companies in Colorado.
About Colorado Decks Plus
Colorado Decks Plus designs and builds custom decks, pergolas, patio covers, and outdoor living spaces throughout the Denver metro area.
We're a growing company that believes quality comes before quantity. We intentionally keep our team small so we can deliver exceptional craftsmanship, provide an outstanding customer experience, and create a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
This isn't just another management job. As we continue to grow, this role is intended to become the leader of our field operations, helping shape our systems, mentor our crews, and ensure every project reflects the quality we're known for.
What You'll Do
As our Field Manager, you'll oversee multiple projects while ensuring every job is built safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing deck and outdoor living projects from start to finish
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting field crews
- Inspecting framing, structural work, finish carpentry, and overall quality
- Looking at every project through the homeowner's eyes and identifying opportunities to improve the finished product
- Catching structural, aesthetic, or workmanship issues before they become problems
- Communicating with homeowners throughout construction
- Coordinating materials and helping keep projects on schedule
- Solving job-site challenges quickly and confidently
- Jumping in with tools when your experience is needed
- Maintaining safe, organized, professional job sites
What We're Looking For
We're hiring a builder first—and a manager second.
The ideal candidate has years of hands-on carpentry experience and is ready to transition into a leadership position where they can use their knowledge to help others succeed.
You should have:
- Extensive residential carpentry experience
- Experience building decks, outdoor structures, framing, remodeling, or finish carpentry
- A strong understanding of structural framing and construction best practices
- An exceptional eye for craftsmanship and detail
- The ability to identify both structural concerns and aesthetic improvements before the homeowner notices them
- Experience leading or mentoring crews
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to read construction plans
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
We're looking for someone who takes ownership. You don't walk past problems—you solve them. You take pride in helping others do their best work, and you care about delivering a project that both you and the homeowner can be proud of.
