Full Job Description

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Per Diem / Part-Time)

El Cerrito Ultrasound – Albany, California

Are you an experienced, patient-focused ultrasonographer who enjoys working independently? El Cerrito Ultrasound is a modern outpatient imaging center specializing in affordable, self-pay diagnostic ultrasound services. We are seeking a skilled sonographer who is confident performing a variety of examinations with minimal supervision while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Position

Part-time: Approximately 6–8 hours per week
Opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows
Flexible scheduling

Examinations Include

Gynecologic ultrasound
Obstetric ultrasound
Abdominal ultrasound
Small parts (thyroid, soft tissue, testicular, etc.)
Men's health ultrasound
Vascular ultrasound

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations independently.
Follow radiologist-approved imaging protocols and obtain all required images and measurements.
Complete worksheets accurately and submit studies promptly for interpretation.
Ensure image quality meets diagnostic standards before patient discharge.
Provide a welcoming, compassionate, and professional experience for every patient.
Maintain exam rooms and equipment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with the interpreting radiologist and administrative staff as needed.
Demonstrate excellent judgment and problem-solving skills while working independently.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Current ARDMS certification (required).
Experience performing ultrasound examinations.
Strong technical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working as the sole sonographer in a boutique outpatient practice.

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
Opportunity for increased hours as the practice continues to expand.
