DESCRIPTION:
This position will be based out of San Antonio, Texas and will be responsible for visiting and servicing clients in that area as well as North and East Texas. Travel will be required, up to 60%.
Provide loss control and workplace safety consultation and OSHA compliance guidance to clients of varying sizes and complexities. The Safety Consultant requires an excellent knowledge of occupational safety, knowledge of occupational health and a working knowledge of OSHA compliance standards and regulations.
Effectively evaluate the client's worksite to determine workplace hazards and exposures, evaluate the effectiveness of workplace hazard controls, provide recommendations to improve hazard control and improve workplace safety efforts. Assist clients with OSHA compliance. Provides clients with guidance recommendations with respect to their safety program needs and helps clients with compiling safety information needed for an effective Safety Program. Provide onsite safety awareness training as mandated by OSHA regulations. Routinely assists clients with guidance on accident investigation protocols and loss analysis working closely with our Workers Compensation department.
It is an integral part of the prospect / client approval process. Works directly with our Risk Management Team. Conducts onsite risk and safety evaluations and assessments at prospective client locations and reports the results directly to the Safety Manager.
Provides consultation, training, recommendations and works collaboratively with our other Customer Support teams including our HR team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client Assessment: Provide onsite safety consultation services to prospective clients and clients located within a defined geographical territory by conducting client evaluation and onsite hazard assessment surveys to determine hazards and exposures and review company safety processes and procedures as they apply to their business operations. Evaluate the effectiveness of the prospect / client's controls of the hazards and exposures associated with the client's operations. In addition, provide clients with recommendations and guidance on OSHA compliance.
- Service Plans: Provides client with recommendations and guidance on applicable OSHA standards, regulations and requirements for compliance. Creates and provides written recommendations to clients that suggest controls of workplace related safety hazards and exposures. Assists client with the implementation of plans.
- Training: Develop, modify and present safety awareness training at the client facility, particularly safety awareness training required to comply with OSHA regulations. In addition, we may conduct live-web-based safety awareness training using Zoom, Teams, etc.…
- Prospective Client and Client Site Risk Assessment Survey: Documents the results of all prospect / client risk assessment surveys on the RAS form in accordance with Risk Management department guidelines. Provide the Safety Manager with a summary of the results of all onsite visits via email. Customizes safety programs for individual clients and produces safety manuals or enhances current client manuals once prospect becomes a client.
- Prospective Client Risk Assessment Survey: Provide timely and proactive support to the Safety Manager and Risk Management V.P. detailing by assisting in our client approval process with prospective client by completing RAS survey.
- Interact with internal associates and departments when necessary to assist with specific client issues directly related to Safety and Loss Prevention client services.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, or Related Field. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education requirements.
- Current Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Risk Management (ARM), CSHO, up to date OSHA Authorized trainer status.
- 10+ years of practical Safety and loss control experience as Loss Control Representative or related fields.
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
