Apply now and let’s Experienced Flooring Sales Representative – Retail & Commercial

Columbia, SC | Full-Time | Immediate Opening

Carpet One Columbia is growing, and we are looking for an experienced flooring sales professional to join our team as soon as possible.

This is an opportunity for someone who already understands the flooring industry and can confidently work with customers from the initial consultation through measuring, estimating, product selection, and project completion.

Prior flooring sales experience is required. Experience with RFMS software is strongly preferred, and candidates must have experience measuring flooring projects and preparing accurate estimates.

This is a hybrid sales role combining showroom retail sales, project management, and outside/commercial business development. For the right person, there is significant opportunity to grow an existing book of business and develop relationships with builders, designers, contractors, property managers, hospitality clients, and other commercial accounts.

What You'll Do

Work with retail and commercial customers to select the right flooring for their projects
Measure residential and commercial flooring jobs accurately
Prepare estimates, proposals, and flooring takeoffs
Manage projects from initial consultation through ordering and installation
Build relationships with builders, contractors, designers, property managers, and commercial clients
Develop new business and grow existing accounts
Bid and manage flooring projects for custom homes, universities, hotels, government facilities, military projects, and other commercial properties
Coordinate with our warehouse, installers, vendors, and internal team to keep projects running smoothly
Follow up with customers and maintain strong relationships after project completion
Maintain accurate customer, job, and order information within our systems

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

We are specifically looking for someone who can step into this role with existing flooring knowledge.

Candidates should have:

Previous flooring sales experience
Experience measuring flooring jobs
Ability to accurately estimate material quantities and understand flooring takeoffs
Knowledge of flooring products, installation requirements, and common job-site considerations
Strong sales and customer-service skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and follow through on details
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Comfortable working both in the showroom and meeting customers at homes and job sites

Strongly Preferred

RFMS experience
Commercial flooring sales or estimating experience
Existing relationships with builders, designers, contractors, or commercial accounts
Experience bidding larger commercial projects
Knowledge of carpet, hardwood, LVP, laminate, tile, and related flooring products

We're looking for someone who is experienced, motivated, organized, and ready to hit the ground running.

You should be comfortable talking with homeowners one day and a builder, designer, or commercial client the next. We're looking for someone who understands that great salespeople don't simply sell flooring—they build relationships, manage the details, solve problems, and make sure the customer has a great experience from beginning to end.

This is not a remote position. The role includes time in our Columbia showroom as well as appointments, measurements, job-site visits, and outside sales.
