Job Summary

The Receiving Technician position requires an individual who has strong customer services skills, ability to communicate with all areas within the organization in a fast pace environment. Candidates should have a track record of being detail orientated and the ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Responsible for accurately receiving shipments, printing delivery tickets, scanning in pack slips, working with outside delivery vendors for shipping and receiving issues, utilization of the computer receiving system, staging received items for delivery, handling refrigerated/frozen items and delivering these items to all areas of the organization. Responsible for maintaining records of all paperwork pertaining to the delivery, receipt, and tracking of items shipped to the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 6 Months Working in a Hospital's Supply Chain or Materials Management Department
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): In lieu of 6 Months Working in a Hospital's Supply Chain or Materials Management Department, will consider either of the following:

1 Year Directly of Related Experience with Inventory Management (such as supply distribution, ordering, and inventory);

An Associate's Degree in a Supply Chain Management Field;

At least 1 Year of Experience that Demonstrated Aptitude for Supply Chain Management and Successful Performance in an LMC Position (To be Reviewed by Department Leadership).
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, knowledge of supply chain computer software and operations, medical product knowledge, receiving principals, manual and electric pallet jack operation, understanding of item identification information (catalog #s, Lot #s, expiration dates), and the organization of paperwork associated with the receiving process.

Essential Functions

Able to use vendor packing slip information to compare to items shipped by vendor to reconcile receipt of product.
Accurately use supply chain software to enter data to receive purchase orders into the system to generate receiving documents.
Assists delivery drivers unload items and place them on carts to be brought into receiving to be processed.
Maintain all paperwork and scans appropriate documents in imaging software.
Answers the telephone for receiving questions, status and research of receipts.
Use FedEx and UPS web based products to track deliveries.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintains an organized area that is clean and neat.
Handles refrigerated/frozen items in a time sensitive manor to ensure a quick delivery
Delivers supplies utilizing flatbed carts and pallet jacks long distances of varying weight.
Secures signatures for all deliveries on receiving documentation.
Assists with inventorying, distributing and ordering gas cylinders for operations.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
