Position Overview
MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Behavioral Health Care is seeking a dedicatedAdvanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) withPsychiatric Mental Health certification to join our established, well-respected, and growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoyinstant volume and collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary team.
Practice Highlights
- Join anestablished, well-respected, and growing practice.
- Current team:
- 1 General Psychiatrist
- 1 Child Psychiatrist
- 1 Psych Hospitalist
- 1 ARNP
- Clinic-based role with shared call responsibilities.
- Call schedule:
- Weekday: 1:5*
- Weekend: 1:7*
(*subject to change)
Includes consults and inpatient unit coverage.
- Facilities:
- 20-bed Inpatient Unit at Waterloo Medical Center
- Horizons Chemical Dependency Unit
- Large support staff of psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
- Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide patient education and support for families.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current Iowa license as a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Psychiatric Mental Health certification required.
- Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry strongly desired.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule& Compensation
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with shared call as noted above.
