You will prepare and review tax returns, communicate directly with clients, assist with proactive tax planning, mentor developing staff, and help improve the systems and processes of a rapidly growing professional services organization.
This position is designed for an experienced tax professional who wants a meaningful role in the future of the organization. For the right person, there is a clear path toward Tax Manager and broader leadership responsibilities.
About Wealth & Tax Architects
Wealth & Tax Architects brings together tax, accounting, advisory, and wealth management professionals to serve individuals, families, business owners, entrepreneurs, and closely held companies through a coordinated financial-services model.
Our tax and accounting platform is affiliated with Parr & Ibarra CPA PC, an established CPA firm providing tax, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, audit, and advisory services.
Across the Wealth & Tax Architects organization, our combined tax, accounting, wealth management, advisory, and support teams currently total approximately 65 professionals, with headcount expected to increase to approximately 72 in the near term.
One of the unique aspects of this position is the opportunity to work with clients from our wealth management division. These relationships include high-net-worth individuals, business owners, investors, and families with more complex tax and financial planning needs. Our goal is to coordinate tax planning with investment, business, estate, and broader financial strategies rather than treating tax compliance as a stand-alone service.
For an experienced tax professional, this creates opportunities to work on more sophisticated client matters and participate in a growing organization where strong performers can assume increasing responsibility.
What You Will Do
You will work across tax preparation, tax review, planning, and client advisory, with increasing responsibility for client relationships, staff development, and engagement management.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Prepare and review Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, along with related state and local filings.
- Prepare and review high-net-worth individual tax returns for clients of our affiliated wealth management division.
- Work on complex individual tax matters involving investment income, capital gains and losses, K-1s, real estate activities, pass-through entities, charitable giving, retirement distributions, and other sophisticated planning issues.
- Coordinate with wealth management professionals to identify tax implications of investment, retirement, estate, and financial planning strategies.
- Review tax returns prepared by staff and other tax professionals for technical accuracy, completeness, consistency, and planning opportunities.
- Provide clear review notes and constructive feedback to developing team members.
- Manage tax engagements from initial client information gathering through final review and delivery.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions, missing information, deadlines, planning opportunities, notices, and engagement status.
- Identify proactive tax-planning opportunities for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, closely held businesses, real estate investors, and other complex clients.
- Assist with estimated tax payments, entity-level tax planning, compensation strategies, distributions, retirement planning considerations, and other recurring tax matters.
- Review financial statements, trial balances, general ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in connection with business tax engagements.
- Work with bookkeeping and accounting teams to identify and resolve issues before tax returns are finalized.
- Assist with IRS and state tax notices, examinations, correspondence, and client representation matters.
- Train and mentor junior and developing tax professionals.
- Help improve tax workpapers, review standards, checklists, templates, procedures, and quality-control processes.
- Assist leadership with workflow management and the allocation of tax engagements during peak filing periods.
- Work directly with firm leadership on operational improvements and department growth.
- Collaborate with accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, advisory, wealth management, insurance, and other affiliated professionals when clients have needs extending beyond tax compliance.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate has reached the point in their career where they can do more than prepare a technically accurate tax return.
You understand why a return is being prepared a certain way.
You can review someone else's work and identify what is missing.
You can speak confidently with a business owner or high-net-worth client about their tax situation.
You can recognize a planning opportunity rather than simply report what happened last year.
You are comfortable collaborating with wealth advisors and other professionals when tax decisions are part of a broader financial strategy.
You can help a less-experienced staff member become better.
And when you see an inefficient process, you are willing to help improve it.
You may currently hold a Senior Tax Accountant, Senior Tax Associate, Tax Supervisor, Tax Advisor, or similar position and be looking for an organization where you can take the next step toward management and leadership.
Why Join Wealth & Tax Architects?
Our integrated tax and wealth model creates opportunities that are difficult to find in a traditional CPA firm.
You will have the opportunity to work with an expanding team of tax, accounting, advisory, and wealth management professionals while gaining exposure to high-net-worth clients and more sophisticated planning engagements.
Rather than viewing the tax return as the end of the client relationship, our team uses tax information as a starting point for proactive planning involving investments, business ownership, retirement, estate planning, real estate, and other financial matters.
For a tax professional who wants to develop beyond compliance work and become a true advisor to clients, this role offers a strong long-term career path.
