FastFrame is Austin's premier custom picture framing company, specializing in museum-quality framing for artwork, photography, sports memorabilia, jerseys, canvas, mirrors, certificates, collectibles, and more.
We are seeking an experienced Custom Picture Framer who enjoys craftsmanship, precision, and helping customers create beautiful finished pieces.
This position is ideal for someone who has worked in an independent frame shop, gallery, or custom framing department and can confidently complete framing projects from design through final assembly.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on custom picture framing experience (independent frame shop, gallery, or custom framing retailer)
- Experience designing custom framing solutions with customers
- Knowledge of conservation framing techniques and proper art handling
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, dependable, and professional
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools safely
Equipment & Skills
Experience with the following equipment is highly preferred:
- Double miter saw (Prisma or similar)
- Fletcher wall glass cutter
- Wizard computerized mat cutter (CMC)
- Vacuum or dry mount press (Bienfang or similar)
- V-nailer / underpinner
- Brad nailer and common framing power tools
Experience with Lifesaver POS is a plus but not required.
If you have custom framing experience but have not used our specific equipment, we will train you on our workflow and systems.
What You'll Do
- Design custom framing projects with customers
- Cut and join moulding
- Cut glass and acrylic
- Cut mats using a Wizard CMC
- Mount artwork using proper conservation techniques
- Assemble finished framing projects
- Stretch canvas
- Wire and finish completed pieces
- Maintain a clean and organized production area
- Deliver exceptional customer service

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule
- Monday–Friday 10:00 - 6:00 pm
- Saturday 10:00 - 4:00 pm
- 8-hour shifts
- 1 hour lunch
- 1 off day
- Overtime available
