Backyard BBQ is a casual, family-friendly restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of Southern-style barbecue to the heart of the community. Inspired by the tradition of backyard cookouts, our restaurant offers warm, rustic atmosphere where guests can enjoy slow-smoked meats, homemade sides, and a welcoming neighborhood vibe. Our mission is to serve mouthwatering, handcrafted barbecue made with fresh ingredients, traditional smoking techniques, and whole lot of heart - just like you'd find in your neighborhood!

Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pit Master to join our culinary team at Backyard BBQ. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that each plate meets our high standards of quality and flavor. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our reputation for excellence in smoked barbecue.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meats using traditional slow-cooked methods.
Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health regulations.
Manage kitchen operations during service, including overseeing food preparation and presentation.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient workflow and quality control.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food handling best practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a cook or Pit Master in a restaurant setting, preferably in Asian cuisine.
Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Must be 18 years or older.
