As a member of the Division of Student Life Human Resources Team, the HR Coordinator will provide support, consultation and guidance on a variety of human resources (HR) areas. This position will also hold responsibility for executing, monitoring, and serving as a subject matter expert on HR Info System (HRIS) transactions, as well as assisting with creation and analysis of HR reports and data gathering, I-9 completion, compliance, timekeeping, and payroll administration. Will advise, assist, and train employees and management on various areas such as payroll, timekeeping, and training/compliance monitoring. Maintains focus on excellent customer service, attention to detail and collaboration throughout execution of these important HR functions.
Specific Job Duties & Tasks
HRIS Transaction Management — Initiate, review, and approve HRIS transactions including hires, terminations, status changes, and leaves of absence to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Payroll & Timekeeping Support — Assist with payroll processes, maintain electronic timekeeping data, and resolve discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate pay.
Data Reporting & Analysis — Collect, maintain, and analyze HR data to prepare recurring and ad‑hoc reports for leadership.
Onboarding Coordination — Conduct onboarding sessions, prepare new‑hire documentation, and support a smooth transition for incoming employees.
Compliance Monitoring — Assist with processing, audit responses, and compliance tracking for required certifications and qualifications.
Supervisor & Employee Guidance — Provide instruction on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, referring inquiries as appropriate.
Organizational Support & Advocacy — Support departmental initiatives, promote HR programs, and contribute to organizational development efforts.
Special Projects & Research — Participate in HR projects, conduct compensation research, and assist with data‑gathering for process improvements.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Communications, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related human resources experience.
Working experience (typically 1-3 years) performing human resources administrative functions in an HR role or HR environment
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and to meet or exceed customer service needs
Basic proficiency in the use of typical office software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office) and HR systems
Superior attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated human resources experience coordinating a high-volume workload.
Working knowledge of UI policies and procedures
Knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting human resources practices.
