Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hospitality-focused Lead Server to help deliver exceptional dining experiences while supporting the daily operations of our front-of-house team. The Lead Server will provide attentive guest service, guide and support other servers, assist with training, and help ensure that each shift runs smoothly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, dependable team leader, and experienced restaurant professional who remains calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range shown is on the lower end of what our FoH earn with hourly wage + Tips.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service.
Explain menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, specials, and beverage selections.
Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders.
Monitor table service and promptly address guest questions, concerns, or special requests.
Lead by example and help servers maintain the restaurant’s service standards.
Assist managers with pre-shift meetings, table assignments, and side-work delegation.
Train and mentor new servers on menu knowledge, service procedures, point-of-sale systems, and restaurant policies.
Coordinate with kitchen, bar, host, and management teams to ensure efficient service.
Help manage the flow of the dining room during busy periods.
Review guest checks and payment transactions for accuracy.
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash-out procedures when assigned.
Ensure dining and service areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol-service, and workplace safety requirements.
Notify management of operational concerns, guest complaints, staffing issues, or maintenance needs.
Support special events, large parties, and private dining functions as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of restaurant serving experience, preferably in a high-volume or full-service environment.
Previous leadership, training, or shift-lead experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards and dining-room operations.
Excellent communication, organization, and guest-service skills.
Ability to lead coworkers professionally and provide constructive guidance.
Ability to multitask and make sound decisions during busy shifts.
Experience using a restaurant point-of-sale system.
Knowledge of food, wine, beer, and spirits is preferred.
Must meet all applicable age and certification requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Food-handler and alcohol-service certifications may be required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to carry trays, plates, and supplies weighing up to [25–40] pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, lift, and move safely throughout the restaurant.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise and temperature levels.

Schedule Requirements

Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak dining periods.
