Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Dining Services to lead and elevate our food service operations within a healthcare or senior living environment. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of dining operations, ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and compliance with health regulations. Your leadership will foster a positive dining experience for residents or patients, promote team development, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and nutrition. Responsibilities

Lead and manage the entire dietary department, including supervising food service teams, cooks, and support staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional guidelines, accommodate dietary restrictions, and align with residents’ or patients’ care plans.
Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, food safety standards, and local health codes to maintain a safe dining environment.
Oversee food production processes, including meal preparation, portion control, and presentation to deliver high-quality dining experiences.
Manage budgets effectively by controlling costs related to food procurement, labor, and equipment while maintaining service excellence.
Conduct regular assessments of patient or resident nutritional needs through clinical nutrition evaluations and care plan reviews.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document dietary assessments, care plans, and nutritional interventions accurately.
Coordinate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall patient or resident care plans.
Implement food safety management practices such as hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) protocols to ensure ongoing compliance.
Stay informed on industry trends related to food service management, dietetics, physiology, and acute care practices to continuously improve service delivery.

Qualifications

Proven management experience in food service management within assisted living facilities, healthcare settings, or similar environments.
Strong knowledge of health regulation policies, food safety management, and food service health code compliance.
Experience in supervising dietary departments with a focus on team management and leadership development.
Familiarity with patient assessment techniques, clinical nutrition principles, and care plan integration.
Proficiency in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for documenting nutritional assessments and care plans accurately.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated understanding of food production processes, dietary restrictions (including tube feeding), and nutrition science fundamentals.
Prior experience in assisted living or acute care environments is highly desirable.
