Full Job Description

Ume Blossom Therapy is seeking a full-time contract Mental Health Therapist to join us in our journey to provide quality clinical services, earn fair compensation, accomplish career goals and have a great work-life balance. We are passionate about all we do!

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
Deliver ongoing individual, couple, and/or family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices to a target average of at least 20 clients per week over an average of 46 weeks per year.
Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during acute episodes (if applicable).
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology effectively for case notes and reports (client consents, MHAs, treatment plans, progress notes, etc.).
Maintain active liability insurance.

Requirements

Master’s degree or higher in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
Valid license or temporary license through the state of Iowa in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC, LMHC-T), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT, LMFT-T), or Social Work (LMSW, LISW).
Demonstrated expertise working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings.
Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes and medical records documentation.
Telehealth experience is preferred; ability to adapt therapy techniques for virtual platforms is essential.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices.
Excellent communication skills for intake procedures, patient assessment, and collaboration with outside client services. Collectively, we have nearly 30 years’ experience practicing therapy in a variety of settings. A steady stream of client inquiries exists that allows for easy inter-office referrals based on the specialty of the clinician.
