Job Summary
The Wire Harness Technician plays a vital role in the assembly and installation of wiring systems that are essential for the functionality of various electronic products. This position is crucial for ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical connections in numerous applications, including automotive, aerospace, and industrial equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with engineering and production teams to communicate any issues, provide feedback on processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment to enhance productivity.
Scope and Complexity
Tools, Technology, or Equipment Used
Multimeter: A critical tool for measuring voltage, current, and resistance in wire harnesses. It’s used to test electrical circuits and ensure that connections are functioning correctly. Specialized equipment is designed to test wire harnesses for electrical continuity and performance before they are integrated into products. Cirris’s equipment is designed to test wire harnesses for electrical continuity and performance before they are integrated into products.
Cable Bundling materials: Used to insulate and protect wire connections. Heat guns may also be used to shrink the tubbing around the connections securely. Includes cable ties, clips, and spiral wraps that help organize and secure the wires within the harness, preventing tangles and wear.

Understanding basic electrical principles, including voltage, current, resistance, and circuit design.

Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment with consistent exposure to the manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods of time.
