Full Job Description

Member Service Representative

Urban Upbound Federal Credit Union (FCU) works to achieve our mission of integrating affordable and relevant financial services, ownership stakes and access to capital with high-impact financial education and coaching. Urban Upbound FCU is a federally chartered and insured financial institution for members who live, work, volunteer or attend church or school in Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside. Urban Upbound is a community-based economic development organization in Long Island City, dedicated to transforming and improving public housing neighborhoods and helping residents who live there achieve economic stability and mobility. You will be responsible for conducting member account transactions relating to deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payment processing, interacting with members in person, via the telephone and thru e-mail to assist them with member service issues related to credit union accounts and services. The member service representative must become familiar with credit union products and services and be able to refer and obtain new member opportunities. The position must be continuously aware of fraud loss and check cashing guidelines as well as security and transaction documentation requirements. The position is limited in its authority to make exceptions outside of policy.

Qualifications:

Previous cash handling or financial experience
Bilingual Spanish speaker
Must possess strong listening and interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills
Attention to detail
High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred** 1+ years of cash handling and customer service preferred
