Pre-Closing Auditor / Reviewer

Loan Operations Department Full-Time

About the Role

An established mortgage company is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pre-Closing Auditor/Reviewer to join our Loan Operations team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of loan files prior to funding. You will work closely with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and title companies to review documentation, identify discrepancies, and ensure all conditions and investor requirements are met before closing.

This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where accuracy and communication are essential to daily success. No prior mortgage experience is required — we are committed to training the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Perform thorough pre-closing audit reviews of loan files to ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with loan conditions and investor guidelines.
Review and analyze loan documents including Title Commitments, Homeowner’s Insurance, Appraisals, and Settlement Statements to confirm all requirements are satisfied.
Calculate and verify prepaid interest, loan fees, closing costs, and wire amounts to ensure financial accuracy prior to funding.
Identify and communicate discrepancies or outstanding conditions to the appropriate team members promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with processors, closers, underwriters, and management to resolve issues and keep loans on track for timely closing.
Enter and maintain accurate loan data across multiple internal systems.
Adapt quickly to changing loan guidelines, investor requirements, and internal processes.
Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operation of the department.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in all work product.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
Ability to learn and navigate loan origination and document management systems.
Strong deductive reasoning and sound decision-making skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Trustworthy and accountable, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in mortgage, real estate, title insurance, or a related financial services field is a plus, but not required.
Familiarity with loan documents, closing disclosures, or title commitments is beneficial.
