SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing complex governmental accounting functions in support of the District's financial operations. This position maintains the integrity of the general ledger, oversees key financial processes including purchasing cards, cash receipting, and bank reconciliations, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role supports audit and budget preparation, manages financial reporting requirements, and provides technical accounting guidance to schools and departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review and monitors all assigned funds, school, and departments budgets, with special focus on budget variances and facilitating solutions. Provide data, support and analysis to departments and school staff. Create bi-monthly budget control group expense report for CFO review.

Create and maintain master position table within Infinite Visions, track changes (added or removed FTE by DAC) and ensure budgeted FTE per staffing sheets agrees to FTE allocations in position control table. Work with the CFO on developing the operations and district-wide staffing allocations for distribution on the budget worksheets. Re-align budget after first payroll and again at mid-year. Evaluate and analyze assigned fund budgets to determine the need for supplemental budgets prior to January deadline each year. Update Infinite Visions with Personnel Action Request forms submitted.

Responsible for the district cash flow, banking services and investments of district funds in accordance with district policy and legal requirements. Create and update weekly cashflow to maximize investment earnings. Manage all communications with the investment firm liaison regarding investment programs.

Responsible for the district participation in the state treasurer's interest-free loan program, including preparing monthly spreadsheets to forecast future cash flows.

Responsible for overseeing and performing complex bank reconciliations across multiple funds and accounts, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records. Analyzes bank activity, general ledger balances, outstanding transactions, deposits, disbursements, and reconciling items to identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.

Assist department with annual audit. Provide auditors with budget to actual information. Assist with monthly and quarterly board reports highlighting budget to actual variances and providing narrative to CFO.

Run salary reports to update and realign salaries for budget preparations and mid-year modification true-up. Work with sites and departments to ensure personnel are correct.

Participate in budget related trainings and meetings. Fills in as team leader in absence of Director and CFO.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting or finance preferred.

At least 5 years' experience with governmental accounting or with similar entity; school district accounting, budgeting, and analysis strongly preferred.

Extensive experience and mastery of Excel functions including pivot tables.

CPA or CPFO certification preferred.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers, peripherals, and office software.

Advanced operating knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Excel.

Operating knowledge of Infinite Visions computer software preferred.

Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, E-mail, etc.
TRAINING:

Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools.

You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
