Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides pediatric therapy services to infants, children, and adolescents with developmental, sensory, neurological, orthopedic, and functional challenges. Services are provided in children's natural environments—including homes, daycares, schools, and community settings—to maximize participation in everyday activities and meaningful occupations.
OTRs will perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, supervise COTAs as appropriate, and provide direct intervention. COTAs will provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist while collaborating closely with families and the therapy team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
- Complete evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans (OTR/L).
- Implement treatment plans and document progress (OTR/L & COTA).
- Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, emotional regulation, executive functioning, feeding, and developmental skills as appropriate.
- Educate and coach parents and caregivers to promote carryover at home.
- Collaborate with physicians, educators, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation.
- Promote a positive, family-centered therapy experience.
Qualifications Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)
Required
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Arkansas Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility)
- NBCOT certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Required
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Arkansas COTA license (or eligibility)
- NBCOT COTA certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred for Both
- Pediatric experience
- Experience in early intervention, home health, or school-based services
- Knowledge of sensory processing, feeding, developmental delays, and family-centered care
