Full Job Description

Good bread runs on good numbers.

Flour gets bought. Loaves get baked. Trucks go out. Somewhere behind all of it, someone has to make sense of what it costs, what it earns, and what it means. That work only feels invisible when it is done well.

That is this role. You'll own the accounting function for a two-site food manufacturing business, reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CEO and the leaders who run the floor.

Monthly and annual financials, GAAP compliance, internal controls, budgets, tax, contract revenue, AP and AR. The full picture. You'll own the close, and you'll shorten it. Some of what stands in the way is old process, some is manual work that should have been automated a while ago. You'll fix both. And you'll lead a team. Look at them honestly, coach the ones ready for more, and build a group that takes pride in accurate, on-time work.

What you bring:

Bachelor's in accounting or finance, master's a plus. CPA strongly preferred, along with a couple of years in public accounting and five or more in accounting overall. Deep GAAP experience and real comfort managing an annual audit. You've worked in an ERP, ideally Aptean or something like it, and you consider yourself an excel expert. You've managed people and left them better than you found them. You've worked somewhere fast and hands-on where titles matter less than getting it right. You make decisions without waiting to be told, you keep confidential things confidential, and you stay steady when the pace picks up. Ability to work onsite five days per week, and to travel occassionally, including periodic trips to our Montana operation.
