Overview:

Are you an experienced technician looking to take the next step in your career? Burdick Ford in Central Square is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician to join our busy and growing service department.

This role is ideal for a technician with strong diagnostic abilities who takes pride in quality workmanship and staying current with evolving automotive technology.

Our technicians are expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, safety, and repair quality in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of automotive systems, including brakes, suspension, steering, alignment, engine, air conditioning, electrical, transmission, and coolant systems
Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and the latest technology
Perform accurate diagnostics and efficiently recommend necessary repairs
Mentor and support fellow technicians while fostering a team-oriented work environment
Maintain high standards of safety, service, and housekeeping, including proper use of personal protective equipment
Perform manual and physical tasks such as lifting tires and wheels, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, and working in a fast-paced shop environment
Document work performed clearly and accurately in repair orders

Requirements:

3-5 years of automotive repair experience, demonstrating advanced diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, transmission diagnostics, and engine performance
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
High attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
Must own required tools
Valid, active driver’s license
Experience with Ford vehicles is preferred, but not required
ASE Certification – Preferred, but not required
NYS Inspection License – Preferred, but not required

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
